2025 Rives on the Road Lineup (so far):Back in 2016, Rooster Walk Inc., the 501c3 nonprofit company, absorbed a nonprofit named “Arts at the Rives,” and began organizing and promoting concerts at the Rives Theatre in uptown Martinsville. In the fall of 2019, the Rives Theatre tragically caught fire and was a total loss. It has not been rebuilt. To keep the music alive, Rooster Walk Inc., now offers “Rives on the the Road” concerts each year. These “pop-up shows” take place in various venues in the Martinsville-Henry County community, and cover a wide range of genres, from rock and blues to bluegrass, country, jazz and more. Rives on the Road Season Passes are currently on sale for a limited time.

Mulligans: $5 per mulligan, max of 2 mulligans per play
Please join us for the 14th Annual Walker Shank Memorial on Saturday, April 20th at Chatmoss Country Club.
Walker Shank was an avid golfer throughout his life, and competed on the Martinsville High School varsity team for four years. A portion of event proceeds will go to fund the Penn-Shank Memorial Endowment Scholarship for students at MHS. Our goal is to raise $2,500 for the scholarship fund through this tourney.
All teams will tee off at noon (shotgun start). The tournament will feature a Captain’s Choice format with 4-person teams. The fee to play is $75 per player. A four-man team costs $300 per team without mulligans, or $340 per team to get 2 mulligans per player. All golfers will be eligible for 2 closest to the pin prizes, a long-drive prize and a closest-to-the-line prize. Each golfer will receive a boxed lunch, available as early as 11 am.

Rooster Walk + Rives on the Road are excited to announce the second annual RW Shucks Seafood Block Party. The event combines fresh, delicious seafood, live music, beer, wine, and spirits in a historic downtown street party setting in Uptown Martinsville, VA.
Oysters will be offered raw, steamed and as shooters. Longfill Grill Food Truck will be featuring a full menu of seafood and non-seafood items. Be sure not to miss Longfin’s decadent crab cakes!
New this year, we’re offering a SHUCK YEAH ADMISSION TICKET that includes all-you-can-eat clam chowder and steamed and raw oysters (while supplies last) and admission to the event, including 3 sets of live music and access to other food and drink vendors. Longfin Grill and other oyster options (shooters, raw) are NOT included in this ticket. Only steamed and raw oysters are included.

When their instrumental prowess earned them a vast following on social media, childhood friends turned all-star act Shadowgrass found sudden success. But as a young band, the expectations that went along with a large audience proved daunting. “We felt a lot of pressure to make something uniquely us, because we had such a big following, and we felt that they deserved more than what we had given them as of yet.” explains the band.
