Back, by popular demand, after her Rooster Walk 10 performance! Kat Wright, whose voice is both sultry and dynamic, delicate yet powerful; gritty but highly emotive and nuanced, has been described as a young Bonnie Raitt meets Amy Winehouse. Add to that voice enough stage presence to tame lions, and the combination of feline femininity proves immediately enchanting. Theres soul flowing in and out of her rock n roll with a serpentine seduction. Some of soul musics sweet, grand dames belt, shout, seethe, and succumb, while Wright sings gently like a heartaches apology. Its funky in spots and beautiful all over. And it hurts a little like it should.
About Prosperity’s Folly: Infusing sweltering guitar riffs and three-part harmonies, Prosperity’s Folly delivers sound from a timeless era as if they served audiences the blues, country, and rock flavors of the 1970s straight from the barrel. Featuring original songwriting from Martinsville’s own Riggs Roberson (Guitar/Vocals) and Griffin Haley (Guitar/Vocals) reinforced by the wrought iron rhythm of Seth Stephen (Bass/vocals) and Austin Gilbert (Drums), Prosperity’s Folly brings a strong hand to the table to provide a refreshing, energizing powerhouse of a show that hits the spot every time.
